Algeria: hydrocarbons agreement signed with Niger

Algérie and Niger signed a hydrocarbons cooperation agreement on March 24 in Niamey, according to Algeria’s Ministry of Energy and Mines. Signed by Mohamed Arkab and Hammad Tini, the deal strengthens cooperation across the entire value chain, from exploration to distribution, and includes training and technology transfer. It covers key assets such as the Kafra field, the SORAZ refinery and the Trans-Saharan Gas Pipeline (TSGP). While no official amount was disclosed, public estimates, including from Sonatrach, put the pipeline’s cost above $13 billion.
