Seychelles–Mauritius : Seven bilateral agreements signed to deepen cooperation

Seychelles and Mauritius signed seven bilateral agreements on March 12, 2026 in Port‑Louis covering key areas including fisheries, agriculture, culture, training and emergency services during a state visit by Patrick Herminieto Mauritius. The agreements aim to strengthen cooperation on sustainable management of the Mascarene Plateau and deepen institutional and economic ties between the two island states. President Herminie also announced the planned opening of a resident Seychellois diplomatic mission in Port‑Louis, to be reciprocated by Mauritius in Mahé, reinforcing regional integration in the Indian Ocean, according to the official release by State House Seychelles.
