Rwanda : Fitch upgrades outlook to “stable” while affirming B+ rating

Credit ratings agency Fitch Ratings announced on March 13, 2026 that it has revised Rwanda’s sovereign outlook from “negative” to “stable”, while affirming the B+ rating. The revision reflects reduced uncertainty over access to external financing and improved diplomatic engagement that helped ease regional security tensions, according to Fitch’s official statement. The agency noted that external disbursements of around $1 billion, equivalent to 6.1% of GDP in the year ending June 2025, are expected to remain robust, supporting sustainability and investor confidence.
