The 60-MW Sidi Bouzid solar power plant officially entered operation on March 10, 2026, with retroactive effect from January 1, 2026, according to an announcement by Norwegian renewable energy company Scatec ASA. The project marks the company’s first investment in Tunisia and is developed in partnership with Toyota Tsusho Corporation. Scatec holds a 51% stake in the plant and will sell electricity under a 30-year power purchase agreement signed with Tunisia’s state utility Société tunisienne de l’électricité et du gaz. With an installed capacity of 60 MW, the facility is expected to support Tunisia’s efforts to expand renewable electricity generation and diversify its energy mix.
