Benin–Nigeria Business Forum : Strategic investment pact signed with Nigeria to boost cross‑border business
On 27 January 2026, during the Benin–Nigeria Business Forum 2026 held in Abuja and Lagos, the Benin Agency for the Promotion of Investments and Exports (APIEx) and the Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC) signed a strategic memorandum of understanding to boost private cross‑border investment and transform the border into a business corridor covering agriculture, agribusiness, mining, transport, tourism and logistics.
The agreement foresees joint promotion of investment opportunities, sharing business environment information and expertise, and connecting investors through economic missions and B2B events to catalyse concrete projects.
This deal complements a broader economic cooperation framework aimed at facilitating trade, expanding business opportunities and advancing West African regional integration.
