On 5 December 2025, Lagos authorities announced a plan to double ICT’s contribution to the city’s economy by 2030. Commissioner Olatunbosun Alake also outlined goals to boost invention and scientific research by 50 %, expand AI deployment across public services, and advance the forthcoming Lagos Innovation Bill to strengthen the innovation ecosystem.
