Guinea : Historic Departure of First Commercial Iron Ore Shipment from Simandou 

On 2 December 2025 at 17:18, the bulk carrier MV Winning Youth (200,000 DWT) departed Morebaya port carrying the first commercial shipment of iron ore from the Simandou mine. Operated jointly by Winning Consortium Simandou and Rio Tinto Simfer, this milestone marks the launch of the full mine-rail-port chain, positioning Guinea as a strategic player in global green transition while generating jobs and modern infrastructure.
