Niger reached a major milestone in its digital transformation with the provisional launch of 1,031 km of fiber optic under the Trans-Saharan Backbone (DTS) Project, funded by the African Development Bank for €43 million. The project links key regional corridors and includes a Tier III national data center. Minister Adji Ali Salatou and President Abdourahamane Tiani highlighted its potential to boost connectivity, e-commerce, e-government, regional integration, and economic competitiveness.
