On 12 November 2025, South Africa’s Department of Science, Technology and Innovation opened ASRI’s new facilities at the University of KwaZulu-Natal. The upgraded hub strengthens national expertise in aerospace propulsion and advanced manufacturing, aiming to train future engineers and support the country’s growing space sector. The initiative aligns with plans to boost skills for the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
