Agriculture : Gates Foundation invests $1.4B to boost climate resilience of smallholder farmers in Africa

On November 13, 2025, at COP30 in Belém, Brazil, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation announced a $1.4 billion investment over four years to support smallholder farmers in sub-Saharan Africa in adapting to climate change. The initiative will provide innovative technologies, digital advisory services, climate-resilient crops, and training for women and youth to safeguard rural livelihoods and strengthen regional food systems.
