Tunisia : $430M World Bank Loan to Modernize Power Sector

The World Bank and Tunisia launch the TEREG program, with $430 million, including $30 million concessional. Goals: improve electricity reliability, accelerate renewable projects, and strengthen STEG. The project targets 2.8 GW solar and wind by 2028, creates 30,000 jobs, cuts costs by 23%, and reduces subsidies by TND 2.045 billion. TEREG aligns with the Tunisia–Italy ELMED interconnection (600 MW).
