Senegal’s Space Studies Agency (ASES) has launched construction of the Senegal Astronomical Observatory (OAS) in Khombole, Thiès region. Equipped with a 600 mm optical telescope and four C14 instruments, the facility aims to become a hub for astronomy and astrophysics training and research in West Africa. The groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for November 13.
