On 18 October 2025 in Washington, Finance Minister Cassiel Ato Forson announced alongside Ethiopis Tafara, IFC Africa Vice President, a major initiative to create more than 500,000 jobs through the expansion of economic crops such as oil palm. The plan, set for formal adoption in 2026, is part of Ghana’s strategy to industrialize agriculture and boost inclusive growth.
