Mozambique and Italy’s Eni will sign on October 2, 2025, in Maputo a financing agreement for Coral Norte, a floating liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant worth nearly $8bn. The announcement was made by Florical Mucave, President of Mozambique’s Energy Chamber, during Africa Energy Week in Cape Town. The project follows Coral Sul, already operational, and supports Mozambique’s ambition to rank among the world’s top 10 gas producers by 2040.
