Ghana’s Statistical Service reported that 901,448 international visitors spent around GHS 15.42 billion ($1.2 billion) between October 2022 and September 2023. Most were day-trippers (888,584), while 12,864 overnight visitors drove nearly all revenues. Government statistician Dr. Alhassan Iddrisu said the survey will inform Ghana’s first Tourism Satellite Account and shape policies to attract more regional visitors, especially from West Africa.
