Tunisia : Fitch upgrades credit rating to « B- » with stable outlook
On September 12, 2025, Fitch Ratings upgraded Tunisia’s long-term foreign and local currency issuer default rating from « CCC+ » to « B-« , reflecting gradual external improvement through a lower current account deficit, resilient FDI, and easing external repayments. Despite progress, public finances remain vulnerable, with high budgetary financing needs and debt stable at about 83% of GDP. Governance and political instability continue to weigh on Tunisia’s credit profile.
