Djibouti Telecom will extend its DARE1 submarine cable from Mombasa (Kenya) to Mtunzini (South Africa) by 2028. The 3,200–3,500 km route will add landing stations in Tanzania, Mozambique and Madagascar. The project aims to boost capacity, cut latency and strengthen resilience after recent regional outages. Over $200M have already been invested in subsea infrastructure over the past decade.
