Ibn Khaldoun-Senghor Prize 2024: Souad Labbize, celebrating cultural dialogue through translation

The Ibn Khaldoun-Senghor Prize 2024 was awarded to Souad Labbize for her French translation of Le Désastre de la maison des notables by Amira Ghenim. This prize, a result of the collaboration between OIF and ALECSO, highlights the crucial role of translation in bridging cultures. The jury praised the fidelity and elegance of the translation, which allows an exploration of a society’s memory at a pivotal moment. Three other finalists were also honored.
