AfDB: Abidjan dialogue targets 400 billion dollar financing gap 

AfDB convenes leaders in Abidjan to tackle Africa’s $400 billion financing shortfall and deliver the Abidjan Consensus under the New African Financial Architecture.

On April 9, 2026 in Abidjan, the African Development Bank Group is hosting a dialogue on the New African Financial Architecture under the patronage of Alassane Ouattara and led by Sidi Ould Tah. The institution reports Africa faces an annual financing gap exceeding 400 billion dollars despite holding 4 trillion dollars in domestic savings. The initiative aims to mobilize capital through new instruments and deliver the Abidjan Consensus.
